Legal Information Guide
Contents
What is It?
This guide is designed for use by service provider agencies that serve low-income populations, but includes legal information only on problems that low-income people often face in Alabama.
When a matter is complicated, or if there are further questions, it is always best to contact an attorney. A list of resources is made part of this packet. However, if they are unable to obtain an attorney, they can use the information and forms in this packet to address their legal issue.
The information in this guide is not comprehensive and does not cover every situation a client might face – but it provides general information meant to encompass the most common situations.
Our hope is that you find this information useful in assisting those that seek your services.
This guide is compiled as part of Legal Services Alabama’s Rural Economic Improvement Project, made possible by funding from the Alabama Civil Justice Foundation.
